Thank you for your interest in my background. I am an experienced Registered Clinical Counsellor working with individuals, couples, and families. My work is grounded in Bowen family systems theory. I offer a thoughtful space for clients to gain insight into automatic reactions and patterns that impact our relationships and our health. These insights can increase our ability to stay grounded, think clearly, and respond rather than react to emotionally charged situations. 

 

Prior to my counselling career, I was a Human Resource Manager with a large, fast-paced business organization. I have always been very interested in employee well-being, work-life balance, and relationships. I completed my Master's of Counselling Psychology degree in 2013 and a three-year Post Graduate program in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016. I work as a part-time Clinical Manager and Clinical Supervisor with a non-profit organization in addition to my private counselling practice. I received my Approved Clinical Supervisor designation in 2024.

A family systems lens has been a valuable resource in my life for navigating challenges, pursuing my life goals and for building healthier relationships. I am married and have two adult sons, as well an extended family here in BC, Scotland and New Zealand. I enjoy exploring BC trails and lakes, kayaking, biking, hiking, and travelling when I can.
