Many extended health care providers have coverage for a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Check with your provider on what coverage you have. We provide professional receipts which you can submit to your provider for reimbursement (if you do have coverage).
In British Columbia, Registered Clinical Counsellors are credentialed members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) — a professional body that sets standards for training, ethics, and practice. Working with an RCC ensures you are seeing a qualified professional who meets rigorous educational and clinical requirements.
At SteadyCore Counselling, Leila Howard is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCC-ACS) based in North Vancouver. Devana Weiss is based in Surrey. With a practice grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory, Leila and Devana work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. The cost of counselling in BC varies depending on the counsellor's training, credentials, and experience. At SteadyCore Counselling, our standard session fee is $150 for a 50-minute session (or $175 for a 70-min session) with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. We believe in transparency around fees and are happy to discuss what to expect before you book.
Many extended health insurance plans in BC cover counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your coverage, as plans vary significantly in the amount they reimburse per session and annually.
We also offer a free 15-minute initial consultation so you can ask questions, get a sense of our approach, and determine whether SteadyCore is the right fit for you before committing to a full session.
For those seeking a more affordable counselling option, Leila Howard and Devana Weiss provide clinical supervision to intern counsellors through an affiliated non-profit organization in BC where sessions are available at a significantly reduced rate of $25. Please contact us for more information about this option and how to access it.
Yes. SteadyCore Counselling offers secure and convenient online counselling to individuals, couples, and families across British Columbia and select provinces. Virtual sessions provide the same thoughtful, Bowen Family Systems informed approach as our in-person appointments, and are a flexible option for clients who prefer to meet from the comfort of their own home or who are located outside of our North Vancouver and Surrey offices.
Online counselling at SteadyCore is well suited for individuals navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relationship challenges, as well as couples and families seeking to understand and shift long-standing patterns. Virtual clinical supervision is also available for Registered Clinical Counsellors across BC.
We are also open to working with clients outside of British Columbia depending on the counselling regulations of your province or country. If you are located outside of BC and are interested in working with us, we encourage you to reach out and we will do our best to explore whether virtual counselling is an option for your situation.
